A 6,000-square-foot, one-story, concrete-frame, concrete-block-infill, composition-roof, 150-seat restaurant and bar with terraces, sundecks, and subterranean cistern.

The clients wished to create on their ocean-front property an enticing dinner house and “watering hole” for vacationers at nearby resorts. Since the tourists find themselves in varying degrees of sunburn, the design provides varying amounts of shelter, with sundecks on the water, a solid-roof area toward the rear, and trellises in between. Terraced, amphitheatre-style floor levels afford ocean views for all. A centrally-located roof-top tower draws out warm air, enhancing natural ventilation.
